Not The Droids I’m Looking For

My boss told me today that she’s getting a Droid Incredible soon. I have to say I’m incredibly jealous (no pun intended).

As I mentioned a few months ago, I’ve been trying to decide what smartphone to get soon. I’ve pretty much resigned myself to buying an iPhone 4, but I’m still very drawn to the Android side of things. An iPhone probably makes the most sense for a couple of reasons. First of all, I’m pretty deeply invested in the iOS ecosystem thanks to my iPod Touch; I have lots of games and other useful apps don’t even exist for Android, and if they did I’d have to buy them all over again. The real problem though is that the Android platform just moves too fast. The week isn’t even half over, and two new Android phones have been announced: the HTC Aria on AT&T and the Droid Xon Verizon. It’s impossible to keep up! Although this speedy cycle breeds innovation, there is something to be said for Apple’s annual iPhone refresh.

I don’t plan on making my final decision anytime in the immediate future, but I am leaning strongly towards an iPhone 4. Who knows though; perhaps in the next few months an Android phone will come out that’s perfect for me.

If I do end up getting an iPhone, which color do you think I should get? I don’t know about you, but that white looks really slick!
