As you already know, I’m currently unemployed. When I left my job almost four months ago, I envisioned my time off as being full of accomplishments. I’d do things like finally read all the books in my personal library or start going to the gym and build some much needed muscle tone. I thought I’d be blogging every day, not (maybe) once a week! And though I have been pretty consistent about going to the gym, my days are otherwise unproductive. It bothers the hell out of me.
Of course, there are many reasons why I’ve been so unproductive, but I came to the conclusion that one thing is responsible for more lost hour than anything else: Spider Solitaire.
When I say that I have lost days to playing Spider Solitaire, I’m not exaggerating. I probably spent 3-4 hours playing the game today alone. I’m on my computer most of the day and I get bored, so I open up the program and fritter away an afternoon or evening moving digital playing cards around. It’s ridiculous!
So I did the only rational thing: I disabled the game on my computer. I am now completely unable to play the game, which will hopefully mean more time spent on more worthwhile pursuits like watching Doctor Who.
